Building an AI agent in front of 40 sales directors
A look back at the Sales Excellence Meetup: the Marvin team configured a practice agent live, on an industry it discovered at the same time as the room.
On Thursday, June 11, at the Sales Excellence Meetup, around forty sales directors and HR leaders came to see Marvin. Rather than a presentation, we showed them the product live, on a company we were discovering along with them.
The problem: we practice on generic cases
The starting point is simple: for 25 years, sales reps have practiced on generic cases, role plays that never really look like the field. The problem isn't the effort. It's the realism. So we did the opposite, live.
The demo: an agent calibrated in minutes
Louis Salzman-Le Goff, from WeFix (a Fnac Darty subsidiary), gave us the context of his industry: his customers, his objections. In a few minutes, the Marvin team configured a practice agent calibrated to his world. Nothing had been prepared in advance.
Christopher Nadotti, our founder, ran a sales meeting against that agent, in front of the room, on an industry he was discovering on the spot. Then Marvin analyzed the conversation in 90 seconds: talk-to-listen ratio, questions dodged, signals missed.
The result: measuring instead of guessing
The room saw in real time what usually stays invisible: the gap between what a rep thinks they did in the room, and what they actually did.
That's the whole point. The rep practices against a customer who talks like their own, then measures precisely what they did, instead of a vague impression. Tailored practice, at the scale of an entire sales force, built on 25 years of b-flower field data, not on theory.
This event is co-organized with Salesapps, Marvin's partner on field sales performance.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Sales Excellence Meetup?
It's an event co-organized by Marvin and Salesapps that brings together sales directors and HR leaders around the concrete practices of sales performance. Rather than presentations, the product is shown live, on real cases.
How quickly can you configure a Marvin practice agent for a new industry?
In a few minutes. At the meetup, the team configured an agent calibrated to WeFix's industry live, from the context shared by Louis Salzman-Le Goff: the customers, the typical objections, the industry vocabulary. Nothing had been prepared in advance.
What does Marvin's analysis reveal after a sales meeting?
In 90 seconds, Marvin produces an analysis of the talk-to-listen ratio, the questions dodged, and the signals missed. The rep sees the gap between what they think they did and what they actually did, on objective, measurable criteria.
Why isn't practicing on generic cases enough?
Because the transfer to the field doesn't happen. A rep trained on fictional cases ends up helpless in front of their real customers, their real objections. Marvin creates agents calibrated to the company's real personas, which speeds up how the behavior takes hold.
